People often don’t know some facts about salt. Excessive salt consumption creates serious health problems. People don’t believe it until your doctor gives you the list of complications and then is that one way or another, try to avoid salt. In my house we no longer use salt but if you eat on the street, is almost inevitable.

7 Facts about salt you need to know

Here are some of the consequences for using salt without moderation.

1.- Forces your heart, liver and kidneys to work more, causing problems of high blood pressure, heart conditions, liver and kidney diseases. This is one of those facts about salt that people don’t want to believe, but doctors may say otherwise.

2.- Eating too much salt raises blood pressure.

3.- Increases blood volume if excess sodium in the body.

4.- Excessive salt consumption promotes fluid imbalance causes an acid-base imbalance (acidity or pH of the cells), promotes atherosclerosis and water retention of the fatty tissue (cellulite).

5.- Promotes weight gain because causes fluid retention.

6.- When the excess of sodium accumulates in the body, also it accumulates fluid in the intercellular space, so that the tissues of the feet and ankles swell.

7.-  When you use too much salt your body you will begging for more. The taste for simple food is lost. This one of those facts about salt that kind of scare me.
