How To Green Clean Your Couch

Cleaning up spills and spots on upholstery can be tricky, but it’s an important part of making sure that you can use your furniture as long as possible, helping save resources.

Cómo Limpiar Tu Sofá Naturalmente

There are a few steps you can take to make sure your couch is not that dirty. First, it’s good to vacuum off cushions, or use a brush, every week, so dirt doesn’t get ground in. When a spot happens, I’ll give you some tips that will help you get it cleaned up.

  • For coffee stains, mix an egg yolk with luke-warm water and rub that on the spot. Make sure you use warm water to clean and let it dry.
  • Shampoo mixed with water is also a good general stain remover.
  • Steam-cleaning takes electricity, but uses only water, and can often remove stubborn spots.
  • For any type of stain, whipped detergent works well. Fill a container with half dish detergent, half water, and use a hand mixer to whip it up. Use a rag to rub the froth into the spot, and then rinse with water.

Remember, before attempting to do your own upholstery cleaning, check the type of fabric or material you are about to clean. Before applying any cleaning solution or soap to your couch upholstery, test the cleaning liquid on a small part of the couch.
