Is alcohol good for your health?

It seems to be a bipolar discussion the issue of alcohol on health. Some believe that alcohol brings benefits in moderate consumption is an excuse to lie alcoholics to drink with social approval …  and there are others who believe they have data to approve its intake as “good” for the human body. Who’s right?

How many times have we read that alcohol is a toxic and addictive substance that causes cancer, does not imply that drinking wine will improve cardiovascular health … etc. Scientists are working on these facts to refute or confirm the claims.

In an article called Drug harms in the UK they say that alcohol is certainly the most harmful drug in our body, physically and psychologically. In the British Medical Journal editorial a comment that alcohol could perhaps introduce some protection to certain diseases was written, but also its consumption would increase the risk of other health problems.

While some would say that the “moderate” drinks like wine intake may be beneficial to the cardiac system, I am of those who believe that everything must be part of a balance. Don’t forget that alcohol is a substance that the body is not used to be processed.

That’s why doctors recommend a drink only, not as an excuse to take this amount every day, but as a control point for those who want to enjoy these drinks occasionally.

If you want to take care of the cardiovascular system I think you better exercise and diet than a glass of wine… Don’t you think?
