Seguramente has probado innumerables tipos de abdominales para tonificar tu vientre; pero quizá no has realizado uno de los más efectivos de todos: “El cien”.

Entérate aquí cómo practicarlo.

El cien (The hundred) es, sin duda alguna, el ejercicio más emblemático del pilates. De hecho, Joseph Hubertus Pilates, creador de este sistema de entrenamiento corporal, comenzaba sus clases con este ejercicio.

Tal vez podría resultar fuerte empezar una sesión ejecutando este tipo de abdominal, pero Pilates estaba claro: es la mejor manera de precalentar el cuerpo, activarlo y estimular su circulación.

Ciertamente, puede llegar a ser bastante demandante; sin embargo, existen muchas formas de modificarlo sin que pierda su objetivo.

Al igual que con todos los ejercicios de pilates, “el cien” requiere un control absoluto, una precisión de oro y un manejo correcto de la respiración.

¡Aprovéchalo!, es magnífico para mejorar la coordinación entre respiración y movimiento.

¿Cómo realizarlo?

Para ejecutarlo de manera correcta, debemos acostarnos boca arriba con los brazos extendidos a los lados del cuerpo y las palmas hacia abajo (los brazos harán las veces de palanca). Simultáneamente, flexionamos las piernas (estirándolas en diagonal); y levantamos el torso y la cabeza, mientras colocamos los brazos paralelos al suelo a la altura de las caderas.

Comenzamos a mover los brazos ligeramente de arriba a abajo (entre tres a cinco pulgadas) por cinco segundos al inhalar; y cinco, al exhalar.

La idea es hacer diez repeticiones, bombeando los brazos para lograr el ansiado cien. Al momento de finalizar, llevamos las piernas al pecho y la cabeza al suelo.

Podemos practicar este ejercicio de muchas formas y con distintos grados de dificultad. Si resulta muy exigente para nuestro cuerpo mantener las piernas en esta posición, podemos flexionar las rodillas y colocar la cabeza sobre el piso, por ejemplo.

Es fundamental estabilizar la pelvis y mantenerla en neutro, así como relajar el cuello y los hombros. Lo importante es poder flexionar la cervical sin que se genere tensión, permanecer con la columna alargada, y mantener espacio entre las costillas y la pelvis.

¿Qué parte del cuerpo trabajamos?

Con “el cien” trabajamos los músculos abdominales (transverso abdominal, oblicuos y recto abdominal). También activamos el psoas, los flexores internos del cuello y de la cadera.

Lo que no debemos hacer

Debemos evitar perder el control sobre la cabeza (ésta debe parecer que flotara), así como cortar la respiración mientras se va contando.

Además, no se puede ni pegar la barbilla al pecho ni “meter” los hombros mientras lo ejecutamos.

Asimismo, resulta sumamente importante no mover el tronco cuando realizamos el bombeo con los brazos, al igual que evitar aflojar nuestro centro, “sacando” la barriga.

Luego de estos consejos, podrás hacer “el cien” correctamente.

Solo debes incorporarlo a tu lista de abdominales. Si lo realizas de forma constante, notarás cambios en poco tiempo. Sigues estos consejos y tendrás un abdomen de infarto este verano.

Depression isn’t the same for everyone, so there’s no ‘one size fits all’ explanation.

El verano ya está aquí, y para recibirlo quiero dejarte 3 deliciosos baños detox inspirados en los colores y sabores del verano.

Un baño detox relajante puede ser la solución perfecta para curar el estrés y desintoxicar tu cuerpo física y emocionalmente.

Consiente a tu piel y déjate llevar por las propiedades que te ofrece la naturaleza.

Hacer esto al menos una vez al mes tiene beneficios que serán visibles en tu piel, en tu salud y en tu paz.

Toma en cuenta que para hacer estos baños detox, debes tomar bastante agua antes y después del baño para evitar la deshidratación y reemplazar los líquidos perdidos.

Protip: Tomar agua con limón te ayudará a restaurar los niveles del pH en el cuerpo.

Prepara tu ambiente: coloca tu música favorita y velas aromáticas para relajarte.

Baño detox con sal marina

¿Qué mejor en verano que un poquito del mar?

La sal marina tiene muchísimos minerales como el calcio, potasio, yodo y bromuro que son excelentes para la limpieza profunda de los poros en la piel.

Para obtener una piel más suave y reducir la retención de líquidos, disuelve ½ taza de sal marina en el agua. Remójate por 10 minutos en agua tibia.

Para este baño detox te recomiendo poner de fondo un sonido marino y velas con olor a coco.

Baño detox con vinagre de manzana

Uno de mis ingredientes favoritos en la salud, pero seguramente nunca lo habías pensado para darte un baño.

El vinagre de manzana tiene un olor fuerte, pero una cantidad de beneficios numerosos para nuestra piel, sobretodo si la quieres más suave y necesitas nivelar tu pH.

También es excelente para combatir infecciones, hongos de piel o incluso la rosácea.

Utilízalo diluyendo 1 ½ taza de vinagre de manzana en tu bañera.

Reduce el fuerte olor con gotitas de aceite esencial de lavanda y listo.

Sumérgete durante 15 minutos en esta emulsión tibia.

Baño detox con jengibre

¿Será picante? Ciertamente no, pero el jengibre tiene unos beneficios increíbles para nuestro sistema inmunológico por sus propiedades antibacteriales y antivirales.

Además es un excelente antioxidante por lo que retrasa la aparición de las arrugas en la piel.

Este baño detox con jengibre lleva 1 cucharada de jengibre en polvo al agua, y una inmersión de 20 minutos aproximadamente.

If you’re a Pinterest fan as I am you have probably seen fruit shells as plates, this trend has been around since 2016 but now you can see it all over Instagram too; it’s beautiful but you have to do it right cause other way you would be contributing to food waste.

How to do it?

Refrigerate the fruit you want to use, when it’s cold, cut it in half and scoop out the center trying to keep the borders. With the fruit you took out you can make a smoothie and save it for later or mix it with others ingredients like Spirulina to change it color and pour it into the fruit.

Stuff it with everything you desire, it can be other fruits, granola, natural ice cream, chia, hemp seeds, even flowers.

It’s all about the fruit

I highly recommend to try this trend as breakfast because of the high content of sugar, so that you have the rest of the day to burn all these calories. Although, you can also use avocados as boats.

Sharing is caring

Usually using half papaya as a plate can be a little too much for a single person so, try this when you have a party or when you can share servings.

Play with colors

When decorating your fruit boat try using opposite colors, such as lime green with magenta, purple with yellow…

Hoy te explico cómo hacer un repelente de mosquitos para el verano… ¿Lo mejor? Es 100% natural.

Uno de los ingredientes más utilizados en los insecticidas convencionales para uso personal es N, N-Dietil-m-toluamida o DEET, como se le conoce comúnmente. DEET, el cual está diseñado para repeler en lugar de matar a los insectos. El DEET es usado por un estimado de un tercio de la población de los EE.UU. cada año.

Aunque el DEET está aprobado por la Agencia de Protección Ambiental de EE.UU. (EPA), este es un irritante ocular conocido y puede causar erupciones cutáneas, dolor o ampollas  cuando se aplica a la piel.

Repelente de mosquitos

 Ingredientes para el Spray:

  • Aceites esenciales: Elegir Citronela, Clavo, Hierba de limón, Romero, Árbol de Té, Melaleuca, Eucalipto, Cedro, Hierba gatera, Lavanda, Menta
  • Hamamelis Natural
  • Agua destilada o hervida
  • Glicerina vegetal (opcional)

Cómo hacer el Spray repelente en casa:

  1.  Rellene una botella de spray (yo usé 8 onzas) 1/2 con agua destilada o hervida
  2.  Añadir hamamelis para llenar casi hasta el tope
  3.  Agregue 1/2 cucharadita de glicerina vegetal si la utiliza
  4. Añadir 30 a 50 gotas de aceites esenciales para lograr el aroma deseado. Si agrega más aceites esenciales, el spray será más fuerte. Mi combinación favorita es: Romero, Clavo de olor, Melaleuca, Lavanda, Canela y Eucalipto… funciona muy bien y huele bien también!

 


 Natural Mosquito Repellent for Summer

One of the most widely used ingredients in conventional bug sprays for personal use is N,N-Diethyl-m-toluamide, or DEET, as it’s commonly known. DEET, which is designed to repel, rather than kill, insects. DEET is used by an estimated one-third of the US population each year. Although DEET is approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), it is a known eye irritant and can cause rashes, soreness, or blistering when applied to the skin.

Natural Bug Repellent

Spray Ingredients:

  • Essential oils: choose from Citronella, Clove, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Cajeput, Eucalyptus, Cedar, Catnip, Lavender, Mint
  • Natural Witch Hazel
  • Distilled or boiled Water
  • Vegetable glycerin (optional)

How to Make Homemade Bug Spray:

  1. Fill spray bottle (I used 8 ounce) 1/2 full with distilled or boiled water
  2. Add Witch hazel to fill almost to the top
  3. Add 1/2 tsp vegetable glycerin if using
  4. Add 30-50 drops of essential oils to desired scent. The more oils you use, the stronger the spray will be. My personal favorite mix is: Rosemary, Clove, Cajeput, Lavender, Cinnamon and Eucalyptus… it works great and smells good too!

La Clorofila es una de las plantas que mas me gusta para desintoxicar el cuerpo. Es conocida porque limpia, desodoriza y desintoxica el cuerpo, fortalece la acción de los sistemas circulatorio, intestinal y reproductivo femenino, es útil para gárgaras y elimina el mal aliento.

Es super buena para alcalinizar el cuerpo, es digestiva, ayuda a la circulación y me encanta tomarla diluida en un galón de agua durante todo el día, sobre todo en mis horas mas activas.

Are you ready for the 4th of July? Today, 
I wanna give you 3 easy refreshing recipes so you can enjoy with friend and family!

Lemon Granizado (Iced drink) – Spanish Drink. 

Lemon is ideal for fighting high blood pressure because it contains high levels of potassium and a low sodium content. So you are getting a drink that it´s not only great to celebrate the 4th of July, it also has many benefits for your health!

Ingredients:

  • 4 large, juicy lemons
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • Cold water

Preparation:

  • Grate a little zest from a lemons and squeeze them all.
  • Incorporate the juice and zest, sugar and cold water for an intensely flavored lemonade.
  • Pour into an ice bucket. Place in the freezer until it has consistency of slush.
  • Divide into glasses and serve with fresh Canita and long-handled spoon. Done.

Tea Granizado (Iced Tea)

I love to use green tea for this one! Actually… there are 3000 varieties of tea and they all come from the plant Camellia sinensis evergreen.

Some properties of this drink are: anti-oxidant action, dental protection and anti-bacterial action, Vitamin B complex helps metabolize carbohydrates and lower blood sugar levels, so it is suitable for diabetics.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g of sugar
  • 8 ml water

Preparation:

First, put water to boil in a saucepan. When it starts boiling add the sugar, dissolve it well and remove from heat. Add the tea bags, cover and let stand half an hour.

Put the liquid into a bucket and freeze it. When done, grind the cubes and make the splash and serve immediately.

Fruit Mix Frappé

One or two cups of tea a day, help sleep and may also have antispasmodic effects. It is also recommended for intestinal or bronchial spasms of nervous origin, as well as for menstrual cramps.

For this iced drink  I use strawberries, their properties act to safeguard the heart of potential risks and also has an antiinflammatory effect that is great for people with muscle problems.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 L yogurt
  • Strawberry pulp
  • Frozen passion fruit
  • Sugar to taste

Preparation:

Blend the yogurt with half the contents of each pulp and sugar, until they are completely hail and serve!
