¿No me crees?

“Breaks” make us more proactive

How many times have we found ourselves so immersed in the work that we forget lunch? The afternoon coffee with five minutes of silence, forget about it! Many of us are doing our best in our work, focused on our clients and staying on top of our responsibilities, mistakenly thinking that by missing your breaks you’ll be more proactive.

Science says the opposite … Don’t you believe me? Here I give you the reasons why taking breaks will make you a much more proactive person:

A break makes you concentrate:

You’ve probably experienced those moments where you feel you’ve been hours on a single topic, and you realize you have not made any progress. Yes, it happens! That’s because our brain is able to maintain attention for a fairly short period of time; It is what we call “habitual” of the mind. As well as the olfactory fatigue (which no longer smell the smells that have been with us a while), our brain gets tired when we expose ourselves to a task for long.

Our brain is like our body needs to relax and to keep optimum functioning. So give yourself a little time to rest, especially computers and phones, to our mind to breathe.

Breaks for snacking can help you make better decisions

The act of taking decisions can drain your mental energy. It is a fatigue-making process, and tends to finish without thinking or making decisions under the regulatory mold (not allow you to fully appreciate the facts).

The solution to this is easy. Take a snack break, which will rise a bit your glucose levels, increasing your mental energy reserves.

Vacations are not just for fun

There are many benefits of our holiday: give us longevity, lower the risk of illness or depression, and increase job satisfaction.

So when you feel inclined to take a short break during your workday, don’t deny it to yourself for thinking that you can be “lazy” or neglected. The interesting thing is that he was doing the right things to stay focused and productive. You’ll notice right away!
