LEER EN ESPAÑOL

Salt retains fluid and favors recovery of swollen nasal mucous membrane, thus relieving the symptoms of colds and speeds up healing of sinusitis.

It is a good natural remedy for nasal congestion, according to the otolaryngologist Olaf Michel, who claims nasal salt baths are very effective in various pathologies, its action is comparable to the saline solution sold in pharmacies.

Salt wash for your nose

In children, this preparation can avoid taking an antibiotic. In the light of the results in eight trials, a continuous application of the saline solution for a period of time may even relieve chronic colds.

Preparation:

Add one teaspoon (about 4.5 grams) of salt (sodium chloride) in a liter of boiled water.

What’s most convenient is to apply the saline solution by an easy nasal shower or an accurate nasal jug.

Follow this procedure often: saline solution is poured in the palm of the hand, blocking one of the nostrils and aspirating the fluid on the other side.

A clinical study shows that if this operation is performed with unwashed hands germs and bacteria are introduced with the fluid in the nose.
