6) No tengas sexo

The First Date

We’ve all been through that moment before a first date, where the mind becomes a disaster and nerves are mixed with expectations. Going to internet is common in these cases to look for patterns of behavior that could help us make a good impression.

I read in the Cosmopolitan magazine an article with good tips (not one of those that say be yourself and you smile), and found them useful. I will share them:

1) Be decisive

Things like “I dunno, what do you think, choose you” are phrases that we must remove from our mind. This doesn’t mean that you must decide everything, but if the guy you’re going out gives you some choice, choose. This will take away an awkward time deciding and not deciding.

2) Get closer

Within normal parameters of personal space you can make a non-invasive approach to make it feel intimate. Sit at his side if you’re having dinner, if you’re walking, let your body rub his casually. This will make him feel your physical presence throughout the event. Don’t insinuate, this should be natural.

3) Listen more

Talking less and listening more can be really difficult when we are trying to gain the attention of our date. Be natural when listening, share what you talk. This will help you decide if your date is someone worthwhile or not. (search for values, interests, aspirations) We know it’s a first date, but this can save you a lot in the future.

4) Dress for the ocassion

We know that because this is the first date we want to look stunning … But you have to understand where you are going to be as consistent as possible to the place. If you are walking along a beach heels may not be a good choice, or if you go to a movie a short dress will make you look out of place. This is a point that seems obvious, but choose what we’re going to put is often the hardest thing to have a first date. My advice is to wear what makes you feel beautiful in confidence with yourself, comfortable and go with the occasion. Tip: colors like royal blue and orange denote trust … Try them out!

5) If you are eating, eat like a normal person

Sometimes we go for the extra light menu (which perhaps you wouldn’t eat at that restaurant) so he won’t think you’re chubby. Dear friend, the best you can do is to act natural and be yourself. Men like women who enjoy their food without thinking too much about it.

6) No Sex

If you want this to turn into a relationship later, abstain from sex. If you have sex he might think you don’t want anything serious.

7) Let him text you later

After the first date you’ll have to resist the urge to write to let you know how well spent. Let him come to you. If you had fun surely you will write. If time has gone on, you can write something simple like “Thanks for yesterday, had a great time” and wait for him to respond.
