Y para terminar la semana en nuestro #OrangeFriday quiero darte esta genial receta de un postre de arroz y jengibre que está más que deliciosa!

Lo que necesitas:

  • 1 cebolla picada
  • 1 ajo picado
  • 300 grs. de arroz preferentemente carnaroli, arbóreo o doble carolina.
  • 750 cc. de agua.
  • sal a gusto
  • 1 1/2 taza de coco rallado (sin azúcar, se vende en naturistas o dietéticas)
  • 1 1/2 taza de jengibre rallado fresco.
  • 1 taza de coco rallado tostado para espolvorear al servir.

*Opcional: si quieres que quede agridulce, puedes espolvorearle una vez servido un poco de canela.

Procedimiento:

  1. Rehogar ajo y cebolla, agregar arroz y coco, dorar unos segundos.
  2. Agregar agua, en la cantidad que diga el envase del arroz que utilicemos, según la marca sera dos de agua por taza de arroz o tres de agua, agregar también la sal y el jengibre, calentar y revolver.
  3. Cuando levante hervor tapar y bajar el fuego al mínimo. Luego de evaporada el agua, dejar reposar unos minutos con el recipiente tapado, para terminar la cocción.
  4. Tostar en un recipiente con mucho cuidado un poco de coco, no es necesario ponerle nada, el aceite que contiene se activa al calentarlo, espolvorear por encima del arroz cuando lo servimos.

Rice with Coconut and Ginger Dessert 

And to finish the week on our #OrangeFriday I want to give this great recipe for a dessert of rice and ginger that is more than delicious!
What you need:

  • 1 chopped onion,
  • 1 chopped garlic
  • 300 grs. preferably Carnaroli rice, tree or double carolina.
  • 750 cc. water.
  • salt to taste
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded coconut (no sugar, sold in health food or diet)
  • 1 1/2 cup fresh grated ginger.
  • 1 cup toasted shredded coconut to sprinkle to serve.

* Optional: To make it sour, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon once served.

Procedure:

  1. Saute garlic and onion, add rice and coconut, fry a few seconds.
  2. Add water, the amount that says rice container we use, depending on the brand will be two of water per cup of rice or three of water, also add salt and ginger, heat and stir.
  3. When lifting boil cover and reduce heat to low. After evaporation of water, let stand a few minutes in covered container to finish cooking.
  4. Toast in a bowl with a little careful coconut is not necessary to put anything, the oil containing activated by heating, sprinkle over the rice when you serve.
