” It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership. ” – Nelson Mandela
We live in a selfish culture in which our first mentality it’s about me, me and me again. However, many great people like Jesus, Mahatma Gandhi, Mandela, Mother Therese, even famous starts like Angelina Jolie or just all the immigrants crossing daily dangerous frontiers in order to sacrifice for their loved ones are the greatest people.
Our Greatness should be defined by our service to humanity and not our status. Greatest leaders are those who fight for our human rights, those who die for us, those who work daily for those who they love and those who just pass goodness around. What we need in our planet are human beings with a servant heart instead of a competitive one.
Research indicates that helping others create a joy and health in our bodies. Not only by giving we bless others, but also we bless ourselves. Let’s pass kindness around:
- Perform 5 acts of kindness a day
- Provide emotional support to others
- Donate money, time or give something away
- Encourage others
- Help other’s dreams come true
John Maxwell is a recognize leadership author and he explains, “Leaders must be close enough to relate to others, but far enough ahead to motivate them”.
