The human papillomavirus (HPV) is known to cause cervical cancer. Though the use of this vaccine is controversial (because you get shot when you are a child). Either way one must be aware of the benefits of this vaccine.

2)    Wear protection

It protects you from becoming pregnant, and STDs. And even more if you don’t have a stable relationship. Keep always a condom with you!

3)    Know your family records

Family records are important, since it helps us know the amount of risk we deal with. Cancer is sometimes hereditary, so knowing our female relatives’ records give us the idea of how possible it is for us to develop this cancer.

4)    Don’t smoke

Cigarettes contain certains substances that weaken your immune system. Making it more difficult for your body to get rid of carcinogenic cells. Besides, cigarettes are the main reason for lung cancer, along with other respiratory-related disease (including other types of cancer.

5)    Have a healthy diet

What could you lose? Having a healthy life is always a win for you. We are what we eat, everything we eat will be reflected on our body. Avoid eating processed meat, fluor and sugar. Start up eating more fruits, vegetables, drink tons of water and lead a more active life.

At the end, Living a healthy life will help you prevent diseases in general, including cervical cancer. I recommend you to run screening test from time to time so when something is wrong you can know it in advance.
