As a good Natural, Organic, and Latina girl that I am, I got printed in my DNA the belief that plants are great protectors of human beings and the spaces we inhabit, this is why they are used in rituals to ward off bad energy and attract prosperity for the family, and business.

December is a good month to make our own energy cleanings, the ideal time to leave behind the bad and receive with wide-open arms the future, new experiences, and changes. So I want to talk about three herbs that got my attention for their properties at all levels: rosemary, rue, and thyme.

3 Herbs to celebrate Christmas

Thyme: This culinary herb has a variety of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that prevent disease and relieves symptoms of flu, sore throats, mouth, and digestive problems. It’s also recommended to burn small dried bouquets and so purify the environment from negative influences, or take a tea made with freshly picked thyme flowers before facing situations that require courage and bravery.

Rue (Ruta): This spicy and bitter taste plant is used in making sauces, flavored vinegar, and spirits as the Italian grappa; it should be used in controlled amounts because it can become toxic. Its sedative and antispasmodic properties make it a good tool in treatments for diseases of the gums, faintness, nervousness, hysteria, cramps, cataracts, epilepsy, hemorrhoids, and varicose veins amenorrhea. The Rue is considered a powerful and combative plant that rejects any hexes, have it near the front doors of your house will alienate insects, poisonous animals, and negative energies.
