LEER EN ESPAÑOL

Raise your hand if you have dogs! Raise your hand if you dream about having a clean house AND dogs! Keeping your house clean is always a challenge, specially when you have pets.

The benefits of having a dog as a pet are undeniable – the walks out in the open and the unmistakable loyalty of this animal being the highlight among them. There are, however, some downsides. A major one is the struggle to keep your house clean. This is an issue with many pets, but especially dogs, and it’s even worse if you live in an apartment.

Get a clean and fresh house even with dogs

1. Baths

You need to bathe your pet at least once a month. Some dog owners wash their pets almost obsessively, but a vet will tell you that this is not necessary and can actually cause dry skin. But, keep your pet clean if you want a fresh smelling home.

2. Brush Your Pet

Most of the time, the smell that comes from your pet is the dead fur that is stuck to them. Take the time each day to brush your dog and remove the loose hair. As a dog owner, you should already be doing this, but if you aren’t, remember that you must do this if you want to keep your home smelling fresh.

3. Clean animal’s toys, dishes and area at least once a week.

In addition to squirting a little non toxic, fresh smelling spray on bedding and toys, give pet’s area a good scrubbing every week.

Clean pet dishes with hot soapy water. Make sure the pet’s water bowl is also always clean and filled with fresh drinking water.

4. Use baking soda

Sprinkle baking soda on animal urine. As soon as possible, soak up urine with a white towel and sprinkle baking soda over the wet area. Allow to dry and then pat area gently with a clean towel. Vacuum remainder once the area has dried completely.

Follow these tips to keep your house fresh and clean and also take care of your health and your pet’s too!
