Day of the Dead is an important holiday in Mexico where the dead are honored. The cult to the death is not new in Mexican culture, these festivities has been practiced since pre-Columbian times, perhaps a legacy of the Mayan culture.

Today I bring you 3 healthy detox recipes to celebrate the day of the dead with your family without you adding a few extra pounds to your body. Free yourself from bad energies and toxins with these delicious detox juices and water.

2 detox recipes for the Day of the Dead

1) Mexican Lemonade

This is a fun recipe, besides being refreshing, you can drink it at any time this day of the dead.


  • 8 glasses of natural lemonade
  • 3 limes
  • 2 cups of cilantro
  • 2 cups of ice

Fill the jar with lime juice, cilantro and mixed with lemonade. Add some ice on top, and if you want you can put some red peppers for a spicy touch.

2) Mint and Orange Water

For this delicious recipe you’ll need:

  • 2 oranges
  • Fresh mint
  • Distilled water
  • Ice

Place the base of your glass with mint leaves and slices of oranges. Fill it with a little water and mix everything together so the flavors come together. Before your guests arrive fill the entire pitcher of water and place the ice before serving.
