When we eat these foods decrease the tone of the valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach, so food can spend much time in the stomach producing excess gastric juices. There are also foods that produce too much stomach acid and cause that burning sensation that is unpleasant.

Tomatoes

In any presentation, tomato causes the stomach produces excess gastric juices. When tomato volumes are too high, the acid is forced to flow into the esophagus.

Acidic foods

Eating citrus and acidic foods raise the stomach reflux. This includes citrus fruits like lemon, orange and grapefruit. The pH of a lemon can be nearly equivalent to normal gastric stomach acid.

Carbonated beverages

First of all, they are terrible for health in general for their chemicals and sugars.
