My mom has had all kind of dairy products all her life. Milk and butter have always been her favorites. My dad, in other hand, doesn’t consume dairy products. An anti-cheese Italian.
I come from a family of weird specimens, and I say it with pride.
The first step I took when I started this life was getting rid of dairy products. That was when my allergies disappeared, I stopped gaining weight and started to feel wonderful. I want to make clear that if I’m in a place where cow milk is the only option, I try to have organic milk, as freshest as possible. I don’t demonize anything, I just change and adjust certain things.
That’s why today, if you live in a country where you can get another type of milk, I want to introduce to you this delicious recipe of coconut milk. I drink my coffee with coconut milk.
Coconut milk is an ingredient that is widely used in Asian cuisine as base for different sauces. It is also used in the pastry industry along with soy milk, as alternative to cow milk.
Ingredients:
- 75gr shredded coconut
- 300ml Boiling water
How to make it
Add the 75gr of scratched coconut to the boiling water. Stir the blend and let it cool. Then filter the blend with a clean piece of cotton cloth; you can squeeze it to make sure you get the most of it.
To take better advantage of the pulp, you can add some more boiling water and repeat the procedure. If you prefer, you can use milk instead of water, but don’t hesitate in trying it out, it’s delicious.
