Salt adds flavor to our food.
We have always talked about delicious recipes where the ingredients are the main component of the dish. The truth is that every recipe has a special, individualized component according to the cook… and today I want to give yourself a little trick to make your food to have more flavor and aroma using salt and spices.
The key is to use salt with spices, because it helps to bring out the flavors of the most basic things, adding a delicate touch, flavoring and in some cases, explosive combinations are created in every bite.
All you need is rock salt (preferably) to create crisp textures, or table salt to be delicate in presentation.
Spices that go well:
- rosemary
- oregano
- thyme
- Clove
- smoked paprika
- Chili
- turmeric
- basil
- Fennel seeds
- cumin
Mixes to flavor and color:
- Romero & cloves
- Thyme & paprika
- Cumin & fennel
- Chili & oregano
- Black pepper & turmeric
How to make them:
Depending on your taste you can make it your own. I always measure the amounts based on the container where I will keep. For every 3 tablespoons of salt I use ½ tablespoons of spices. Grinding with a grinder, mortar and pestle, or with a mixer.
Note: Be careful not to use wet spices for salt doesn’t harden.
