Chickpeas are one legume belonging to the family of Papilonáceas, they need a temperate climate to grow smoothly.
Chickpeas originated in the southwest of Turkey, then moved to the Mediterranean basin and Europe, then Africa, America and Australia. It has been cultivated since prehistoric times.
