Today I wanna share with you a simple recipe that I consider part of my best kept diet secrets: Turmeric detox water.
If you don’t like to drink plain water, and you turn to the flavors to make it palatable, try this recipe because in addition to being super healthy… you’ll love the taste!
Turmeric is a yellow root of the ginger family, native of Southeast Asia and has been used for thousand of years for its medicinal properties, and as one of the key ingredients in many dishes
It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, as a natural analgesic, it also prevents bacteria and malignant tumors.
Mixing turmeric and lemon water results in a strong and healthy drink, perfect to start your day with energy, here´s the recipe:
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
- Lemon juice (half lemon)
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
- 1/8 teaspoon of honey (optional)
Add turmeric powder, lemon juice and honey to the warm water. Stir and set aside.
Shake well before drinking, and enjoy. You can take it warm or cold, it really depends on your taste.
You can use turmeric in so many different ways, I love to use it as a spice in many dishes, it will bring lots of flavor and color to your meals!
